Modern Foreign Languages at Charlton House

At Charlton House French is taught as early as Reception year through to Year 6 by a specialist languages teacher. Through songs, rhymes and games in the early years, to learning the language, and about the food, music, history and geography of France further on up through the school, the children of Charlton House learn a love of the French language, the country and its rich culture.

Learning a language equips pupils to express themselves in new ways, helping to develop their immediate sense of belonging to the wider world and starting to prepare them for future opportunities in modern life. This has never been more important, and at Charlton House we truly believe that being confident in another language will contribute greatly to preparing our children well for their future life.
