Dear Parents,
I hope all of our families enjoyed a wonderful Easter break and had chance to rest and recuperate after the busy Spring term. The children have all returned with big smiles and lots of enthusiasm as they have been introduced to their new learning topics for the summer term. It has also been lovely to begin using the school field for playtimes and PE lessons.
Many of the staff began the Easter break by attending the funeral of our dear Fr Michael. The Cathedral in Portsmouth so full of the many fortunate people who had the pleasure of knowing Fr Michael. The service was beautiful and paid a fitting tribute to such a wonderful man. You can read the Holimly elsewhere in our blog.
We started our week with a very thought-provoking Collective Worship on Tuesday with Mrs Murray. We heard how Jesus appeared to his disciples a number of times after his resurrection. We heard of their joy and wonder at seeing the Lord once more. We also heard how one disciple found it difficult to believe in the miracle and needed the physical proof of seeing Jesus. Jesus said ‘Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’. Mrs Murray challenged the children to be brave in their thoughts and actions this week. The children who have shown true courage of thought this week will have received our Mission Heart award.
I very much hope you enjoy the extra long Bank Holiday weekend.
